I really find it irritating to update portfolio records on KM. Seriously. The system is full of flaws, but since it's in the baby stage of development, there's no point brooding over the trips and falls along the way. I'm just relieved that I can put in my SGC stuffs without much problems.

Just as I am updating my portfolio (at this very moment), yet another thought cantered into my mind. I think my thoughts have this crazy habit of opening the door to my brain and walking in. Anyway, I have just been thinking about how everyone is crazily updating their portfolio, and there is this frenzy of how many things in the CAAL section that each person has. Does it really matter whether or not the list of stuffs that we have done spans 1 page long or 10 pages long? I understand how a portfolio is important in keeping track the things that we have done, and how much initiative we have to enrich our JC life, and how we have developed as a person, yadaaa yadaaa yadaaaa. But I seriously don't think the amount of things done will always tally with the inner, personal development. I believe that there are people out there who can learn more about serving and self-sacrificing from 100 hours of CIP than another who has 200 hours, because people learn at different paces and have different levels of sensitivity to the larger world out there. In the same way that in life, we meet people who have a maturity beyond their age, we meet others who choose to remain ignorant despite their age. How much we learn cannot be easily quantified by the number of things we do. I am aware that there are people who have short portfolios because they just have no initiative. At the same time, there are people who are committed to a concentrated aspect of JC life. Isn't it better to have someone who learns a lot more from a short period of time or a short lesson, like asking intelligent questions that benefits others as well as her/himself, than a person who takes eons to figure out how to receive the guest-of-honour? My thoughts are running short because it's 12.40 am and my neurons are shortcircuiting, and my examples seem ridiculous. Anyway, my point is, I don't agree with the mindless grabbing of doing things just so to fill up space on the CAAL file. Yikes. Brain dead, thought gone. Good night, dreams here I come =D
