Went out on Good Friday with my bunch of friends whom I've been close to for 4 years. been looking at the presents that we've bought for one another over the 4 years. this year is somehow pretty special. it's the year when u're being forced to grow up. and in aiding fellow friends to grow up, presents are becoming less of soft toys and cutesy stuffs. more practical gifts that can be carried with for some time more in the future. the guys are receiving manly stuffs, like a guide book on how to dress like manly men. haha. and the girls are receiving lady's stuffs, dress, jewelry. and somehow the 6 of us understand one another so much that i believe each gift is perfectly suitable. haha. we've come such a long way. but still, we've kept the child in us, and do silly things, like drawing a whole row of smiley faces in different coloured pens on the notes of the person sitting next to u. slowly, i realise that games like truth or dare no longer work for us. coz we know one another too well. haha. and how many friends can u find who are so close to ur heart? people who understand u, and who always make it a point to be close to you. people who will give you honest and sincere opinions, advice. who look after you better than you look after yourself. so grateful that i can have such wonderful friends. who cares if we're from china, vietnam, indonesia, singapore. who cares if we're catholic, christians, buddhists. who cares if we're guys, girls or in-betweens. we're all rolled into one! and proud of it =)

watched step up 2! super cool =) plot is normal, but dancing is phenomenal! they bring hip hop into yet another level. been thinking about traditional and modern dance forms. somehow each class of dance have their own roles to play. tradition is very much sacred and structured, striving for perfection to bring a utopic sense to the people. and modern dance forms, like hip hop, modern modern (e.g. martha graham), are celebratory of personal identity and freedom for self-expression. but there's one thing that ties all dancers together, passion. ultimate passion that leads u to a personal heaven. whether u're performing on stage, on the floor, in the streets, it's passion that brings u into heaven. the sweat, the work, the smell, the tiredness, will all go away when u dance. the thing is, u only realise how much work u've done after u've danced. not while dancing. when u dance, the rest of the world is locked out. there's only u, ur body, and dance. the best dancers are the ones that can create music out of movement, and create movement out of music.
