my dad is here for the Hari Raya holidays =) been spending time with him, and seizing every chance i've got to just spend time with him. he's here for only a few days, but i treasure and relish every second i've got talking, walking, laughing, dining, and many many things with him. the more physically distant i am from my parents, the more i am emotionally close to them. not many people can understand how it feels like to be miles and miles away from parents and family, since u were eight. growing up is a million times harder without the guidance of adults. although parents can be pretty naggy sometimes, but they do give guidance and advise u require, especially when u're a teenager. there were times when i feel like an orphan, times when i feel neglected, times when i feel like giving it all up and just return to my family's arms. it has never been easy living here. maybe that's why i have never learned to love Singapore, becoz it has never been a place that i receive love from the people i love. friends, well, they are precious and wonderful in their own way. but blood is always thicker than water. it's strange how some families are physically together, but emotionally distant. ultimately, parents and children must make that extra effort to communicate. especially when u hardly spend time with one another, all the more you must express your affection for one another explicitly. dun allow regrets to come pouring when u have no more chance to show your affection to your loved ones. there's no regret greater than the regret of failing to express love.
there's no time to lose. life is short. there's no telling what tomorrow will bring. seize the day, seize the chance. some things may seem impossible to happen now. but life has a way of taking u by the horns when u least expect it. seize every minute u've got with ur family. dun ever think that family time is a waste of time when u're supposed to be doing schoolwork. schoolwork is the one that is a waste of time. life is nothing without love. love with all u've got.
