watching so you think you can dance on youtube.com. watched a lot of Benji Schwimmer. he's super good. i love his attitude and his personality!!!! one of my fave dancers =)) he's super fun and cool. his personality just SHINES above the rest, and u can see it in his dancing. that's the type of dancer i admire!!! haha. great dancing, better attitude, best personality. it's so cool! i hope he or Dmitry wins. =) wonder if Singapore's The Dance Floor will produce another dancer that has the kind of fantastic, cheerful personality like Benji. dunno why i dun really have much faith ya... haha. anyway, he's my favourite dancer =)) and i bet whoever is his partner always has a great time dancing. haha.
2nd is Dmitry. he's super suave and cool. the way he dance is super sleek and nice, and you can see that he loves being in that dance. and he's always super lucky to get ballroom dance styles to show his personality. haha. nigel says he has good looks that girls like, and that's true, but nigel also said they kept him on the show because he's a great dancer, and that's EVEN MORE TRUE! haha. i was soooo happy when he was safe although he was one of the bottom 3 couples. and he's there mostly because of his partner, who is unluckily not very good... =( but it's okay, he's still on the show and i'm happy! haha.
watching this show... gives me a lot of faith in dancing =) haha. ballet can be too rigid sometimes, and recently i've been stressing myself out too much, such that i'm only dancing with my feet, and forgot to dance with my heart... last sunday i was sick and couldn't dance, so i sat down at the front of the studio and watched my frens dance while i was taking down notes. and i kind of realised that the expression on their faces didn't really show that they enjoyed dancing. it was more of stress and sweat. i guess it's kind of inevitable, and i know that i look exactly the same. the stress and pressure just shows on my face, and i know it. but i'll go on to enjoy the dance, much like Benji and Dmitry, and that crazy but wonderful girl Heidi.
Elaine introduced something new last week. she told us to SING out the dance. she told us when to be soft, when to be powerful, which she thinks is much like singing. there are certain phrases you must emphasize, and some that must be soft and smooth. every song is different, and each has its own meaning. i kind of just realised that, and i'm searching to the key to singing out a dance. so now whenever i listen to songs i'll listen out for the rise and falls of the song, so that i can sing a dance out of my heart =) dancing is the best of all art forms, because it synergises every different art form to a single dance. the dance is like a painting, combined with music and then with movement. the dance is a poem in itself as well. it's very challenging but very satisfying. =) and i'm proud to be a dancer! (however lousy i may be...)
