okie fine. so HCL Os are over and done with =D and so far i have.... watched finish the WHOLE series of goong =)))) and gone to buy a whole set of dance clothes and gone out window shopping with my mum =) i saw this velvet dress from calvin klein. oh my gosh it's so darn nice!!!!!!!!! >.< 1st time i liked a piece of clothing that much. but the price is like a crazy 600 bucks. gosh. =( anyway, my mum and i went inside the calvin klein shop and we browsed around. my mum started to want to buy everything coz they're all so darn nice and the sewing technique and all that are super good. but again... the price... those stuff cost more than a bomb lar. okay nvm. don't want to sound bimbo. but calvin klein is really nice.

anyway, found that mugging for Os ain't that bad. my mum was always with me in the study room when i stayed up late at night to study. and becoz my whole family are talkative people, we can't help but talk. in the end we talked quite a lot about stuff. and this brought the 2 of us a lot closer together. found that i could talk to her about things that i usually don't talk to her about. and i'm grateful for that. family is after all more lasting than friends. haha.

so here's the main part of my post: this has got nothing to do with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, or with Man and Ideas. Just my own little thoughts that I thought are worth posting...

Philosophy of the Stone

1. The stone is hard, cold and unfeeling. In the same way, a human can become hard, cold and unfeeling. Cold to the outside world, not caring about what others do or say. When others try to hurt you or try to make you happy, your heart is already so hard you can't feel anything. Life is just spending day after day.

2. The rock is stable (there's this Christian song that says u can built ur house upon the rock and not the sand.) Yup, it's a stable base to build your life upon. Because when you are hard, cold and unfeeling, nothing can hurt you or move you.

3. Unlike the ice which melts quickly when given warmth, the stone does not let the warmth of others affect itself much. The ice is hard, but the stone is harder. The ice is cold and may remain cold, but the stone is cold and will always remain cold.

4. It takes centuries to bore a hole through stone through natural processes, it takes centuries before any other living being can make itself at home on a stone. The wind and rain may hit the stone, but it takes a lot of wind and rain to change the stone even a teeny weeny bit. The rocks is a hostile place to live on. Only a strong weed can grow within its thin cracks.
A person who is like the stone will not allow external forces to affect his/herself. Only after a very very long time, will it finally succumb to others. It will take a strong, hardy person to change this 'stone' such that he/she can learn to give life to others.

5. Once the stone has become the soil, it will learn to give itself to others and to provide place for others to flourish, but this takes time, lots of time.

I envy the stone, for nothing can affect it. I envy the stone, for it stays true to itself no matter what, and not heeding what others say or do to it. I envy the stone, for it is independent and does not require the presence of others to survive. But I pity the stone, for it has no emotions.

I think I'm stoning.
